I want to complain a little bit. Actually, if I am not forced, why would I bother with all kinds of things? Comic library, video library, and setting up my own World of Warcraft server... Have I eaten too much? As a normal person, if there is no obstacle to obtaining these things, and the cost is not high, I might as well go out for cycling and traveling more. But the reality is too unbearable. I just don’t like being restricted, but I like to break these restrictions. As a result, I find that I have to do everything myself... But no matter what, if I want to do it, I have to do it well and live up to the name of invincibility.
Why did you choose komga? First of all, my comic resources are basically in two formats: epub and cbz. The solution I need must at least support these two formats, which excludes a lot of options; secondly, it must support online reading in the browser and reading in the app, and the reading progress must be synchronized, so there is basically no other choice. In fact, there is another option: kavita, but kavita does not seem to support the folder organization method (that is, the same comic is placed in a folder, and the folder is directly displayed as a comic), which is a bit troublesome. I have too many comics, and it is unlikely that I have the time and mood to rename each comic according to official requirements, so I finally chose komga. However, komga did not disappoint me and basically met my requirements.
This is my comic library, which is divided into 5 categories. When creating an account, you can specify the access rights for the user. You can only access one or several libraries, and you can also limit it to online reading or skill reading, downloading, etc.:
So it can basically meet the conventional requirements.
In addition to using a browser on a PC, you can also use an app directly. For example, I can use Paperback on a Mac:
Can set up single screen or dual screen.
You can also use Paperback on iPhone and iPad:
So if you like to collect comic resources like me, using komga is a very good choice. Of course, it takes a lot of effort to set up. I usually use docker because I have a dedicated docker server (a dusty macmini). And if the comics are large, like mine, which is more than 500g, then considering mounting the smb directory on the nas is another requirement.
In short, for Chinese people, life lies in struggle.
