1 Introduction
Writing these articles about singing, voice, hearing, and cognition wasn't initially intended as a "music-focused" project. More often, it stemmed from repeatedly encountering questions that couldn't be explained by intuition while practicing, listening to music, and researching related theories.
As I gradually accumulated more and more articles, I realized that these scattered thoughts actually all revolved around the same thing—How do we perceive sound, understand sound, and ultimately "use" sound?.
Thus, this "Thematic Map of Music and Sound Cognition" came about. On one hand, it serves to organize my own thought processes and cognitive paths; on the other hand, it also aims to provide a relatively clear reading order for readers who, while not formally trained, enjoy singing and studying vocalization.
The current content is still not much, which is the reality of this topic: the understanding of sound cannot be rushed, but can only be gradually developed through continuous practice, reflection and correction.
2. Musical Aesthetics and Sound Understanding
Observations, aesthetic judgments, and structural explanations regarding the phenomenon of "why something sounds good."
Personal reflections on aspects such as the listenability of music, singing performance, and sound perception.
- Why are familiar old songs more enjoyable to listen to than popular new songs?
- Why does a song sound good? A three-dimensional theory analyzes the secrets of singing.
3. The Awakening of Sound (Series)
Records the author's actual singing and listening experiences.
Continuous reflection on the mismatch between auditory perception, vocalization state, and sound feedback.
This series is not a teaching guide, but rather a gradually unfolding cognitive path.
